CHOOSING THE CORRECT EQUIPMENT
The Tribrach or GNSS antenna levelling device is one of the most important hardware components in a CORS (continuously operating reference station) installation.
Antenna monuments on buildings or similar structures need to be individually designed for each installation and manufactured from Grade 304 stainless steel.
GNSS CORS antenna monuments should never use “conventional survey grade tribrachs” as leveling screws cannot be secured or adjusted to ensure maximum antenna horizontal stability.
Installers are tempted to use conventional tribrach assemblies to mount the a GNSS antenna to the monument. This has been proven to be a bad choice. At the time of installation the assembly works well and provides an excellent means to level the antenna. Survey grade Tribrachs are not designed to be exposed to the environment. They are manufactured to provide a leveling device for the duration of a survey. The main components are powder coated cast aluminum. The leveling screws are machined from a high grade steel. There is no protection from corrosion after the surface oil has evaporated
DESIGN
CORS installations require components designed and manufactured from stainless steel 304 grade.
After more than 20 years experience in the GNSS CORS industry, Elliott Enterprises engineers have designed and developed a purpose built Leveling Device for GNSS antennas. The design recognizes the need for simplicity and efficiency while keeping cost to a minimum.
We have designed the Antenna leveler to simplify and overcome some manufacturing issues and reduce cost and weight, while maintaining usability and accuracy. A Stahl Circular Vial (Made in Germany) has been added to further guarantee the highest accuracy.
ACCURACY
The leveling component, Circular Vial is manufactured in Germany is preferred for use in survey and all high tech equipment worldwide.
Manufactured locally using NC lathes and cutting equipment the CORS leveling unit provides the highest accuracy and precision available.
The CORS Leveling device will be exported worldwide as the product is identified as the first choice.
CHOICE OF EQUIPMENT
If you are planning to install a Static Base or a CORS network, we suggest taking a close look at the Elliott Enterprises CORS Leveling device to guarantee the highest precision and stability for the life of the base. The “never freeze” adjustment is always available for fine adjustment at annual inspection and adjustment.
